ICT Support Consultant

Salary: expected to be £20,000 to £24,000 pa + 5 weeks holiday (this would be pro rata if successful candidate has requested part time or term time only)

Location: Oxfordshire / Buckinghamshire – the office is in Witney but the role is mainly field based

Hours: Full Time, Part Time and Term Time Only all considered

This is a great opportunity to join a respected company that has been providing ICT support services to educational establishments in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire since 2003. Our customers include state primary and secondary schools, independent schools and Oxfordshire County Council’s schools advisory centre.

Responsibilities

Making scheduled technical assistance visits to customers in order to support their curriculum and administrative networks according to each customer’s specific needs.

Working with customers, third party companies, local authority representatives and others to identity customer needs. 

Handling the installation and configuration of new equipment and software on school curriculum and administration networks, performing updates, repairs and network infrastructure maintenance.

Enabling maximum availability for teaching and learning of peer-to-peer and client-server networks including CC3, CC4, Window Box, SchoolShare, Ranger and standard Windows by maintaining and troubleshooting desktop PCs and peripherals, servers and networking equipment. 

Where appropriate, providing customers with information about other services we provide such as supply of PCs, peripherals, consumables, interactive whiteboards etc and passing on potential leads to sales staff.

Skills, knowledge and experience

You will have experience of working in schools and be able to demonstrate the interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate effectively with teachers, senior school managers and school administrators. 

You will have a background in RM technologies, CC3/CC4 in particular, along with demonstrable general Windows networking knowledge and experience including Windows 2000 or 2003 server and Windows XP clients.

You will have experience of troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a networked environment.
